How to replace a water heater thermostat

First of all make sure to turn off your water heater and then remove the access panel. Now an electric water heater have upper and lower thermostat to control the upper and lower water heateing elements. May be one of the thermostat is not working or both. In order to solve the problem it is very neccessary to know the problem and now we will be heading forward as we are well aware ofthe problem lying in the water heater.
Disconnect the wires from the terminals on the thermostat.
After purchasing the right model and size of thermostat for the water heater and adjusting the new one and unscrewing the old one, replace carefully to avoid any accidents. Attach all the detached wires to the thermostat.
The whole process will be repeated if both the upper as well as lower thermostat is to be replaced.
Attach the access panel to the water heater. Turn on the switch and use the new thermostat according to the instruction manuals.
