My adult son just purchased one of those stupid BB guns that are obnoxiously loud and makes everyone uncomfortable. I don’t know why he decided to do that. It puts everyone on edge. Even though we don’t live in a country with guns, people still understandably flinch when they see someone walk into a room with a 60cm rifle. BB guns are just ridiculously stupid.
If I wasn’t disappointed by my son buying the gun initially (I was), I was even more disappointed yesterday when my son shot the BB gun at a window in our home and smashed it!!! What the heck!!! I didn’t realise that my son was an absolute moron. Because of him, we need someone to come in and do residential glazing on our windows. He has a job so he can pay for it, but it’s inconvenient and shows that he has a complete lack of self awareness and care.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to admit that I went wrong when parenting my son. He’s in his mid twenties now and should be settling down with a nice partner (girl or boy, I don’t care) and getting his life together. Instead, he’s buying BB guns from the two dollar shop and breaking the windows in our family home.
I hope his wallet takes a real hit when paying for the new glass balustrades. Melbourne is an expensive city to live in, with inflation and cost of living and all that, so I hope this really knocks some sense into him. I’ve confiscated the BB gun and he will not be getting that ever again. I also told him if he purposely breaks anything in this house again, then he’s out for good.
It’s times like these that you realise no matter what you do, people are going to be their own person. My son is just not that good of a person.
